Design Market says goodbye to summer with FunnyTech

On September 8 and 9, Mercado de Diseño says goodbye to the summer by connecting the latest technologies to its proposals for independent design and alternative music.

With the arrival of September, all are changes, back to the routine and new beginnings. On this occasion, the month of returns is accompanied by Mercado de Diseño, in collaboration with Dimad, a commitment to highlighting the latest technological advances and show applications in design, music or gastronomy with different interactive activities.

Mercado de Diseño returns to the center of Madrid four months after its #PlasticFever edition, held last May at Matadero Madrid. In this new edition, #FunnyTech, the public can enjoy the last days of summer with an Aperol Spritz, while learning about the new proposals and collections of the best national independent design firms.

Funny Tech, which will take place on September 8 and 9, will feature an impeccable selection of fashion, decoration, accessories, illustration, kids or pets designers, which will not lack signatures like Cyrcle, which poses a geometric and minimalist jewelry in ceramics and silver, Yolanda Raravis, with its pattern design and surrealist illustration inspired by collage, or Miyaya, a daring and sustainable ceramic firm that imitates in a responsible way everyday items such as water bottles or take-away glasses, so common in daily life but at the same time so polluting.

Design Market continues to surprise with its decoration for all visitors. On this occasion, they will surprise us with an art installation that will be carried out by the designer Moisés Nieto through his firm Dos Studio. Nieto is one of the top representatives of contemporary Spanish design and fashion; He has been awarded the “My Show” Vogue Italia award in 2011 and curated by the Valentino Group, in addition to being the winner of Whos on Next, Vogue Spain.

The concert poster will also be in line with the theme that gives a name to the edition: electronic music will be the dominant tonic on the Aperol Spritz Live stage. The market, as it has been doing for about 5 years, is committed to emerge artists full of talent and new proposals.

Borque's casual pop, PBSR, that arrives from London with a proposal of very careful textures and atmospheres, and North State, revelation band that with a year of experience has conquered the San Isidro festivities and will soon be at Primavera Sound, will sound Saturday, September 8th.

On Sunday 9, the music will be played by the Catalan Brigitte Laverne, baptized as the new muse of soul electronics, Airlocksound - a break with traditional electronics -, and the party will culminate with the performance of the duo Back.

Mercado de Diseño has the technology of HTC this time to bring the public one of the most attractive technologies that have emerged in recent years: virtual reality. HTC VIVE virtual reality glasses are one of the most complete equipments of the moment that, having 360º vision and extras such as headphones, are capable of creating a much more realistic and immersive experience.
